Michael Semb Wever asked:My 6Gb harddrive in my Dell Inspiron 3500 finally died.
I'm looking for a replacement drive (maybe a Hitachi TravelStar 60Gb
7200RPM) but and scared that this old machine and bios will not support a
large new harddrive.
I have upgraded the bios to PhoenixBios A14.
Will I be able to use a new and large 2.5" harddrive?
I'm running 2.6.x linux kernel.
Bay-Wolf replied:A 60GB hard drive will work in your system. Check out this link. Leduke30
states that he has used a 60GB hard drive in his 3500.

the extra speed brought on by the 7200 RPM hard drive.
